Something that homeowners have to be aware of is the threat that water poses to new flooring. This vinyl floor was getting water from a leak in the roof that found its way to the first floor. Signs of water damage in a vinyl floor include bubbling or soft spots. The bubble in this floor led to a whole area of damaged underlayment.
